About

I should really change the name of this blog to ‘No longer stuck in a rut’, but it’s had this name for so long that I don’t have the heart to change it now.

I originally started this blog in order to push myself to take risks and get myself out of my comfort zone, and it has definitely worked. I’m an Irish woman living in New Zealand with my Scottish husband, Gerry, and our rescue pups, Mario and Bruce. I’m a content creator, photographer and a writer and I also run a timber flooring business with my husband.

Life was good, and then in April 2019 I had a hiking accident that left me with a severe concussion and completely changed my life.  I could no longer read and write, I had to learn numbers again, my eye was damaged and my nose was broken. I went from running mountain trails to barely being able to leave the house. The reset button was pressed on my entire life.

Come join me on my journey as I make my way back to myself, figuring out the essentials and discarding the unnecessary as I go. Come with me into nature as I slowly hike my way back to health, discovering new ways to do things and new trails into the mountains of life.
